Rail Discovery Day- Canberra Railway Museum 9am-4pm
Take a nostalgic trip into the past with our School Holiday Rail Discovery Pass
Ride our special heritage train, hauled by steam locomotive 3016, for an exhilarating 45 minute trip to Queanbeyan, departing at the convenient times of 10:25am, 12:20pm and 1:45pm from Canberra Railway Station.
Afterwards, get up close and personal with living history at Canberra Railway Museum (open on the day from 11:00am until 4:00pm)
- Climb onboard 132 years old steam Locomotive 1210, the engine that pulled the first train into Canberra in 1914
- Sit the drivers seat of a 1800 horsepower diesel locomotive
- See Australia’s biggest steam locomotive, Garrett Loco 6029, now under restoration to operating condition
- Explore antique sleeping and sitting carriages
- Enjoy a light snack in our Rail Café or alternatively, bring a picnic along and enjoy it in the evocative surrounds of a historic railway carriage
- Glimpse the world of rail in miniature with the onsite model railway, located in a old style railway mail carriage.

HOLIDAY ENTERTAINMENT - PETER PAN 10.30am and 2.00pm: From 8-17 July 2010, in the school holidays, Child Players ACT Child Play Program is presenting a new play adaptation by BJ Anyos of the classic tale of Peter Pan by JM Barrie at the Belconnen Theatre, Swanson St, Belconnen.
There will be a total of 14 performances of Peter Pan at the Belconnen Theatre between 8-17 July at 10.30am and 2.00pm on Thursday 8, Friday 9, Saturday 10, Wednesday 14, Thursday 15, Friday 16 and Saturday 17 July.
